I ordered these candy canes to use to make hot cocoa chocolate stirrer sticks. I intended to break up the candy canes into very small pieces to coat the chocolate dipped wood stirring sticks. So the fact that people gave less stars because they arrived broken didn’t matter. That’s actually the exact reason I chose this seller plus the low cost. I really just needed them fresh. I was actually happy to think they’d already be a little broken because it’d save me the trouble. I was surprised to see that only 3 had one break each at the same place on the candy cane as just about every other one I’ve ever seen broken. (The “neck” part.) This has to have been done in transit. The box was smashed on all sides because it was packaged in an envelope w no padding. It would be better to ship these in a small box w padding. Regardless, they worked out fine and I ate a piece of one broken up and sprinkled over the marshmallows on my hot cocoa. Some of the smaller pieces disintegrated which was perfect. I didn’t want to be stuck eating a bunch of pieces of candy cane but still wanted a crunch of peppermint here and there. They tasted fresh and I had no issues whatsoever with getting the wrapper off. Maybe the bad review concerning that issue was a one off bad batch? I could see the wrapper getting really sticky after they get old too. (This goes for all candy canes not this particular brand.) Anyway, I’m happy with my candy canes and if I ever get through eating them and need more, I’ll buy them again from this seller.
